KABUL (Pajhwok): In a dangerous rescue mission in southern Afghanistan, Prince Harry of Britain strafed the Taliban with bullets to help the Americans escape and airlift injured troops to safety.

A media report quoted an Indiana citizen, whose son served in Helmand province, as saying the British royal rescued US soldiers who were ambushed in the war zone in 2012

John Zanetis, whose son Christopher Tripp Zanetis was one of the troops rescued, told The Sunday: “Prince Harry came in with his protection squadron and blew the enemy to pieces.”

Tripp, 37, was among seven killed on Thursday when their military helicopter struck a power line and crashed along the Iraqi border with Syria.

Harry, known as Captain Harry Wales in the British Army, served two tours of Afghanistan from 2007 to 2008 and 2012 to 2013.
