KABUL (Pajhwok): Five foreigners have been wounded after their helicopter crashed inside the Marshal Fahim National Defence University in Kabul, an official confirmed on Monday.

Maj. Gen Dawlat Waziri, spokesman for the Ministry of Defence, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Marshal Fahim University late on Sunday.

The helicopter crashed soon after take-off, wounding five foreign contractors. Gen. Waziri had no information about the identities of the injured.

A Resolute Support mission spokesman, Tom Gresback, confirmed the incident: “We are aware of reports regarding the incident at the Marshal Fahim National Defence University.”

He said: “We can confirm the aircraft does not belong to NATO or USFOR-A. No Resolute Support members are involved.”
