Salahuddin Rabbani no more JI leader: Emad

Feb 15, 2018 - 15:46

KABUL (Pajhwok): More cracks appeared in the Jamiat-i-Islami (JI) political party as Noorullah Emad took charge of the party and announced an end to the leadership of Salahuddin Rabbani being head of the party.

Syed Ibrahim Emad, head of JI political office, while addressing a press conference here announced the leadership of Noorullah Emad and added the general assembly of the party would be soon arranged.

He said the entire party supported the leadership of Noorullah Emad. “We are not a branch of JI but we are the core unit of JI because Noorullah Emad was one of the founder of Nuhzat-i-Islami and JI,” he said.

“Salahuddin Rabbani is no more the leader of JI. He should have a proper strategy and plan to be reunite with JI,” said Emad.

He added Rabbani was appointed the party leader for two months. During the period he should have arranged the general assembly of the party, but he failed.

He recalled, five years had been gone but Rabbani failed to arrange the general meeting of the party.

Referring to the recent tension between Noor and Presidential Palace, he said JI wanted peaceful solution to the crisies and all legal rights of JI on government to be provided peacefully.

Leaders of the JI under the leadership of Salahuddin Rabani could not be reached for comments.
