KABUL (Pajhwok): A rocket landed in the premises of Indian Embassy in Kabul this evening, but there were no casualties, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said, adding that all employees are safe.

Foreign ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said there was no fire and no casualties were reported in the incident.

He said the rocket caused minor damage to a structure at rear side of the Embassy compound. “No fire or casualties. Our Charge d' Affaires informs that all Embassy employees are safe.”

The explosion in Wazir Akbar Khan neighborhood was heard at around 8pm, an eyewitness told Pajhwok Afghan News.

A shopkeeper in the area, on the condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast occurred after a rocket landed in the heavily fortified Wazir Akbar Khan area. He said security officials soon arrived in the area after the blast.
