Afghanistan are placed in Group-D with Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Ireland in the 61-nation field including the 10 full ICC members - England, Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.

Namibia has been awarded a spot after finishing as the best of the associate nations in the 2016 tournament. The event also features Kenya, Canada, Papua New Guinea and Ireland.

As part of their practice matches ahead of the mega event, Afghanistan and Bangladesh played their first warm up.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field in the 50-over game, with the Afghans batsmen piling up 208 runs in 49 overs, said Farid Hotak, the Afghanistan Cricked Board spokesman.

For Afghanistan, Azmatullah Omarzi, playing well with the bat, contributed 81 runs to his side followed by Baheer Sha with 44 and Ibrahim 38.

In response, the Bangladeshis could not chase the target and they were all out for 150 runs and Afghanistan won the game by 56 runs.
