JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least seven Daesh and Taliban fighters have been killed during a clash between the rival groups in Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Saturday.

The Nangarhar governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News, the two factions clashed in the district on Friday night.

He said four Daesh and three Taliban militants were killed and four others on both sides were wounded in the gun-battle.

Separately, on Saturday a civilian was injured after being caught in the crossfire between Daesh and government forces in Haska Mena district of the province.

The town administrative chief, Saz Wali, said the early morning clash occurred after Daesh militants stormed a check post named Khadi Ghondai in the district.

He said security personnel suffered no casualties, but an area resident was severely injured and his condition was said to be critical. He didn’t know about Daesh casualties.
