188 greenhouses being built in Daikundi

NILI (Pajhwok): Local agriculture officials on Thursday said 188 greenhouses will be built in eight districts of central Daikundi province in order to improve the economy and employment opportunities in the areas.

Sayed Abdul Wahid Ferozi, provincial agriculture, irrigation and livestock director, during the inauguration ceremony of the project said that 188 commercial, semi-commercial and family greenhouses will be built in the province.

Three of these greenhouses would be commercial, 150 of them semi-commercial and the rest 35 would be noncommercial and family based, he said.

The commercial greenhouses would cost 300,000 Afghanis and the semi-commercial and family greenhouses cost more than 100,000 Afghanis which is funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MALI), he said.

Ferozi said the project would help improve the economic situation of local people and create job opportunities in this province. MALI would also distribute improved seeds to farmers.

Mohammad, a resident of Daikundi province was happy about the project and said, the greenhouses will improve people’s economic situation and create work opportunities for many people in the province.
