Spin Ghar, Bost beat rivals in test tournament

KABUL (Pajhwok): Spin Ghar and Bost zones won their matches in the ongoing Ahmad Shah Abdali cricket tournament in Kabul and Jalalabad, the cricket governing body said Sunday.

The matches were played in Ghazi Amanullah Khan cricket stadium in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, and central capital Kabul.

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) spokesman Farid Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News Spin Ghar defeated Amu on the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket ground.

Amu won the toss and scored 196 run all out in their first innings and in response Spin Ghar scored 282 runs. Hotak said Amu set Spin Ghar 136 target in their second inning.

Spin Ghar chased the target with eight wickets in hand. Muslim Musa was the man of the match.

In Kabul, Bost club defeated Mes Ainak by 73 runs, thanks to Karim Sadiq’s 114.

Bost scored 282 runs in the first innings and 263 in the second despite Mes Ainak’s Mohammad Alam 11 wicket-haul.

Mes Ainak made 247 runs in the first and 224 runs in their second innings, with Bost winning the four-day match by 73 runs.

For Bost, Karim Sadiq played well and contributed 114 runs followed by Sami Agha with 63 and Bahar Shinwari with 64 runs.

For Mes Ainak, Fazil Zazi made 63 runs, Rahmat Sahak 54 and Rahim Mangal 68 runs.

Other Mes Ainak bowlers Ziaul Rahman clinched 7 wickets and Karim 4. Mohammad Alam was declared the man of the match.
