Problems of Afghans living in Kuwait to be resolved

Problems of Afghans living in Kuwait to be resolved

Oct 09, 2017 - 16:00

KABUL (Pajhwok): Kuwaiti authorities have assured the Afghan ambassador of resolving the problems of Afghans living in that country.

Mangal Hussain, ambassador to Kuwait, told Pajhwok Afghan News he met Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid Al Jarrah Al Sabah on Sunday.

He said that they discussed in details relations between the two countries and efforts for bringing peace to Afghanistan and the region at large.

Hussain said that he also shared problems of Kuwait based Afghans to Sheikh Khalid Al Jarrah Al Sabah for their solution.

Kuwait-based Afghans are forced to renew their residency documents and fingerprints every year -- an issue that created problems for them.

Hussian added the Afghans who delayed renewing their documents were fined. Kuwait also did not issue business and family visas to Afghans, he said.

Some of the Afghans have been living in Kuwait for the past 40 years and and owned good businesses there. They want to bring their families and children to Afghanistan but are refused visas.

The ambassador said the Kuwaiti prime minister had promised directing the relevant authorities to resolve the problems being faced by the Afghans.
