TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): At least 25 Taliban have been killed and 11 others wounded during a ground and air operation in central Uruzgan province, an official said on Wednesday.

Gen Rahmat Shah Qemati, the Afghan National Army’s fourth brigade commander, told Pajhwok Afghan News that joint forces conducted the clearing operation in Sola, Garamab, and Nachin areas of Tirinkot city on Tuesday.

He said 25 insurgents were killed and 11 others were wounded and all areas were recaptured from militants.

He added Taliban’s key figures Mullah Hamidulla and Mullah Agha Jan were among the dead. Bodies of the slain militants were still lying at the scene.
