4 killed in clash at Kabul wedding ceremony

Aug 30, 2017 - 11:40

KABUL (Pajhwok): Four people have been killed and two others wounded as a result of a clash between a government official and irresponsible gunmen at a wedding ceremony in Kabul, residents said on Wednesday.

Mohammad Yousaf Musazai, an eyewitness who attended the wedding party, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the clash took place in the Afghan Khyber wedding hall in Taimani area on Tuesday night.

The fire exchange outside the hotel lasted about 10 minutes. Musazai said he had seen two bodies, but another participant told him four people had been killed and eight others wounded.

Mosazai said the security forces reached the hotel after the clash ended and did not allow the wedding guests to get out of the hall until midnight.

A security official in the 4th police district, who did not want to be named, confirmed that four people were killed and two others injured in the gunbattle.

The clash took place between the guards of a government official’s son and the unauthorised gunmen, he said, without giving any further details of the incident.
