355 new police cadets graduate in Kandahar

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): As many as 355 police cadets graduated from the Southern Zone Police Training Centre in Kandahar province on Sunday.

The young officers underwent a six-month training course, learning professional tactics. The individuals who graduated as 2nd lieutenants were now ready to serve, said Kandahar police chief Gen. Abdul Raziq.

Addressing the graduation ceremony, Raziq said graduation of 355 cadets completed the formation of Kandahar police.

He said the new graduates would be assigned duties in Kandahar, Helmand, Uruzgan, Zabul and Daikundi provinces. He asked the graduates to discharge their duty with sincerity and abide by their commanders’ legitimate orders.

Raziq said achieving people’s hearts while performing duty was important because police were public servants. He warned police officers against misusing their authority.

A trainer at the Southern Zone Police Training Centre, Prof. Sardar Mohammad Kohdamani, told Pajhwok Afghan News the graduates were imparted all needed professional training in six months.

A newly graduated cadet, Abdul Samad, said he joined police because of his immense love for the country. He expressed happiness over receiving the training, adding he was now ready to serve his people in a better manner.
