KABUL (Pajhwok): The bodies of 24 people, including women and children, who died in yesterday’s attack on a mosque in Kabul, were buried in the mosque’s courtyard on Saturday.

Health officials said 28 people were killed and 50 others wounded in the attack involving three suicide bombers.

According to police, one suicide bomber blew himself up at the gate of the mosque and allowed the two other assailants to enter the mosque and open firing at worshippers during Friday’s prayer.

The dead and wounded included women and children. Fatemah, a young girl who lost her mother to the yesterday attack, was in the mosque to see her mother for the last time.

“The infidels beheaded my mother while she was praying. They are not human who massacred these people in the mosque,” she said, while wiping out tears.

Ali Ahmad, a five-year-old boy, who was rescued by security forces while he was unconscious. Worried and frightened, Ali’s picture went viral on social media showing his body bleeding and standing in the hall of the mosque. Police were seen pointing out to Ali to leave the place.

Daesh or so called Islamic State (IS) group has taken responsibility for the attack. Government officials, the UN and the US Embassy strongly condemned the attack.
