Foreigners among 29 IS fighters killed in Nangarhar airstrikes

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least 29 Daesh or so-called Islamic State (IS) militants including foreign fighters have been killed during airstrikes in Kot district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said Tuesday.

Governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News Daesh hideouts were came under attacks in Nargosi area of the district during the past 24 hours.

He said that 29 Daesh rebels including foreigners were killed during the offensives.

Civilians and security forces suffered no casualties during the operation, he added.

Daesh rebels did not comment on the incidents so far. Anti-Daesh operation jointly launched by Afghan and foreign forces is ongoing in Kot and Achin districts of Nangarhar from several weeks.
