Kunduz-Khanabad road closed following attacks

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The Kunduz-Khanabad road was blocked for traffic following Taliban militants’ attacks on security posts in northern Kunduz province on Thursday, an official said.

Mahfuzullah Akbari, spokesman for 808 Spinzar Police Zone, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants stormed security checkpoints in Andarabi, Qoshlaq and Aks-I-Daud areas of Khanabad district on Kunduz-Khanabad route at around 5am today morning.

Three militants were injured during the ongoing clash between Afghan forces and the Taliban, he said, adding the Khanabad-Kunduz road was blocked and many cars on both sides stranded as result of the battle.
