‘18 foreign Daesh fighters eliminated in Nangarhar’

Feb 23, 2017 - 11:02

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least 18 Pakistani Daesh militants have been killed during ongoing operations in different districts of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Thursday.

The Nangarhar governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 18 Daesh militants had been killed and two others wounded in Haska Mena, Naziyan and Khogyani districts during air and ground offensives round-the-clock.

He said four other suspects were also detained in connection with various crimes during the operations. Some 31 landmines were also discovered and defused.

All the killed Daesh fighters were Pakistani nationals, Khogyani claimed.

There has been so far no word from the militant group in this regard. Thirty Daesh were reported killed on Wednesday as well.
