Daesh-planted bomb wounds 11 schoolchildren

Daesh-planted bomb wounds 11 schoolchildren

Feb 19, 2017 - 15:23

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A bomb planted by Daesh militants has inflicted injuries on 11 schoolchildren in the Haska Mena district of eastern Nangarhar province, the army said on Sunday.

A statement from the 201st Selab Military Corps in the eastern zone said the landmine exploded in the Kota Wal area of the district late on Saturday night.

At least 11 students were wounded as a result of the Daesh-planted bomb, it said, adding soldiers evacuated the wounded to Jalalabad Civil Hospital.

Education department spokesman Asif Shinwari confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News the bomb explosion, saying the wounded boys were all school students.

The injured were students of second to sixth grades, currently under treatment at the hospital, he said.

The governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, said Daesh did not spare even civilians. There has been so far no word from Daesh in this regard.
