Sher Khan Port enterprise director suspended

Dec 06, 2016 - 13:13

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The attorney’s office in northern Kunduz province on Tuesday suspended the Sher khan dryport enterprise head on charges of dereliction of duty and aiding land-grabbers.

Prosecutor Mohammad Arif Mubashirtold Pajhwok Afghan News hundreds of acres of land belonging to the port’s enterprise had been usurped and sold with the help of Imam Mohammad Sarshakhi, acting-director of the enterprise.

“We have received several lettersfrom the port and the governor’s house, asking us to prevent the usurpation of land meant for a township. The acting director refused appearing for investigation at the attorney office.”

Mubashir said the attorney office had asked the provincial courtfor suspending the acting directoron charges of non-cooperation, dereliction of duty and aiding usurpers. On Monday, he wasformally suspended.

“Until the acting director does not appear for interrogation at the attorney office, he couldn’t continue his duty,” the prosecutor said.

But Sarshakhirejected the accusations, saying: “The land was usurped in 1388 solar year, when I was not acting head, and preventing the practice is not my responsibility.”

He called his suspension a conspiracy and he had duly answered to all letters and questions from investigators. He was ready to visit the attorney office for answering the allegations, the director said.
