Policemen among 6 dead in Qarabagh blast

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): At least four policemen and two civilians were killed in a roadside bombing in Qarabagh district of central Kabul province on Monday, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.

The incident took place when a police pick-up hit by a roadside bomb in Sarsang area of the district at around 11: 00 am, a statement from the MoI said.

Earlier, district chief Abdul Wasay Sharifi told Pajhwok Afghan News that policemen went to the area to attend a funeral ceremony when came under roadside bomb blast.

He said six policemen were killed and two others wounded in the incident.

As usual, Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, with the group’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed seven police officers including the district police and intelligence chiefs were killed in the attack.
