Apr 22, 2014 - 11:29

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Seventeen civilians were injured in a bomb blast in Charikar City, the capital of eastern Parwan province, on Tuesday morning, an official said.

The explosion took place at around 9:30am in the main square of the provincial capital, police chief, Brig. Gen. Khalilullah Ziaee, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the explosives were placed in the Afghan Local Police (ALP) vehicle, which left 13 civilians wounded. He said policemen were not there in the vehicle at the time of the blast.

But civil hospital director, Dr. Muhammad Qasim Saeedi, said 17 persons, including a child had been admitted to the hospital with multiple injuries. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
