5 soldiers, policeman killed in blasts

KABUL (Pajhwok): Five Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and a policeman were killed in two separate roadside blasts in different parts of the country, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Thursday.

A statement issued by the ministry said three army soldiers were killed in Dilaram district of Nimroz and two others in Greshk district of Helmand provinces.

A policeman was killed and three others injured following a roadside bomb attack in the Chapa Dara district of eastern Kunar, provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Sayyedkhel, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the explosion took place in Goslak area of the district lat evening. However, the Taliban claimed eight policemen, including a commander were killed in the bombing.
