5 militants killed in Kapisa operation

CHARIKAR (PAN): Five rebels were killed during an operation in the Tagab district of central Kapisa province, an official said on Wednesday.

The operation was launched by Afghan National Army (ANA) and police two days ago, the district police chief, Sher Shah Yousafzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Some weapons and explosives were seized in the operation, which was still ongoing.

A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid said two ANA soldiers were killed and several others wounded in the Joibar area of Tagab. But police spokesman, Asadullah Hamidi, said security forces had suffered no casualties.  

Abdul Raqeeb from Jalo Khel area of the district said three men and a woman were killed during the offensive in Gratyan and Ahengaran villages.
