Dec 10, 2012 - 14:59

MAHMOOD RAQI (PAN): Three people were arrested on the charge of killing Anisa, a health worker, in the central province of Kapisa, officials said on Monday.

Anisa was shot dead by two motorcyclists in the Malakan village of Doyama Hisa district on December 1, when two rival groups were trading fire in the area. Some reports said she was killed as a result of an insurgent attack.

Abdul Mohammad, a brother of Anisa, named four suspects in the murder case. Three of them have been arrested while the fourth managed to flee on Sunday, the governor’s spokesman said.

Qais Qadiri told Pajhwok Afghan News another six suspects, including three from neighbouring Parwan province, had also escaped.

Anisa’s brother said four the suspects had threatened his sister with dire consequences over the telephone. She was attacked during a vaccination campaign, Mohammad added.

After quitting education during Taliban’s rule, Anisa got admission to 10th grade at the Jamal Aghi Girls’ High School in the district.
