NATO-led soldier killed in bombing

NATO-led soldier killed in bombing

Apr 12, 2011 - 10:33

KABUL (PAN): An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) soldier was killed in a roadside bombing in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday, the military alliance said.

The foreign soldier died following an improvised explosive device (IED) strike in the east, the multinational force said in a brief statement.

In line with its policy, ISAF neither revealed the nationality of the fallen soldier nor the exact location of the incident. Mostly US soldiers are stationed in the east to fight Taliban insurgents.

Since the beginning of 2011, 122 foreign soldiers, including 86 Americans, have been killed in Afghanistan. Last year, 711 international soldiers were killed in the country.
