3 killed, 7 injured in accident

 MAIDAN SHAR (PAN): Three people were killed, seven injured and more than 40 livestock died in two separate traffic accidents in the central province of Maidan Wardak, officials said on Tuesday.

A civilian car collided with a truck at around 11am in Sra Qala area of Syedabad district, killing three men and injuring seven other people, including two women, traffic officer, Zarif Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The truck driver was driving in the opposite lane when his truck collided with the car. The truck driver had fled from the area, he said.

The injured were taken to hospital for treatment, Syedabad district chief, Dr. Muslim, said.

Meanwhile, another truck, carrying nearly 100 sheep, flipped over in Kotal, on the outskirts of Maidan Shar, the capital of Maidan Wardak province, Khan, said.

More than 40 sheep died and the others were injured, he said.

Five people were killed and six others wounded in a traffic accident on January 6 in Salar area of Syedabad district.
