NATO soldiers wounded in accident

NATO soldiers wounded in accident

Nov 06, 2010 - 13:45

CHARIKAR (PAN): Two International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) soldiers were wounded when their armoured vehicle flipped over in central Parwan province, officials said on Saturday.

The accident took place in the Daraz Gird area of Shinwari district late Friday when an ISAF convoy was on its way to the Siah Gird town. The incident prompted the troops to return and put off their visit to the district.

Parwan police chief, Brig. Gen. Bashir Ahmad Muldani told Pajhwok Afghan News the injured were taken to the Bagram military health facility and were in a stable condition. NATO-led forces intended to visit Siah Gird and assess the security situation there.

Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the insurgents attacked foreign forces in the Daraz Gird area, killing two soldiers and injuring two others -- a claim rejected by local authorities.
