Floods affect Panjsher province

<!--break--><p>KABUL (PAN): Flash floods have destroyed acres of farmlands, 10 houses, 12 small bridges, some small dams and washed away fruit trees in one district of northern Panjsher province, residents said on Wednesday.</p><p>In Zamankor area of Anaba district, the floods also damaged an asphalt road in three sections, the governor's spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News.</p><p>Lal Agah, a resident of Zamankor area, said: "The floods started at 7pm on Tuesday and completely destroyed our house. My family and I spent all the night in the open; no organization has assisted us so far."</p><p>Jah Agah, another resident, said:"The flood destroyed my one-and-a-half acres of farmland which was ready for harvest, and damaged a part of my house."</p><p>He requested welfare organizations and the government dispatch urgent aid.</p><p>Three other districts of Panjsher were also hit by floods. Over the past week, flooding across the country has killed dozens of people and caused massive financial losses.</p><p>am /cas</p>
