Teenage boys die in blast north of Kabul

<!--break--><p>CHARIKAR (PAN): An old bomb killed two teenage boys on Sunday in the Kohi Safi district of central Parwan province, north of Kabul, officials said.</p><p>Muhammad Hanif, 12 and Naseebullah, 11 students of grade 6th and 4th respectively were grazing animals in a pasture in Dandar area when the blast occurred, said Kohi Safi district chief, Dr Abdul Wahid.</p><p>He told Pajhwok Afghan News that over the past eight years, eight people have lost their lives due to old mines planted during the Soviet invasion of the country in late 70s and the subsequent civil war.</p><p>He said they would ask the demining organisations to clear the area of landmines.</p><p>"My son was grazing animals when we heard a powerful explosion," Naseebullah's upset father said.</p><p>When they arrived in the scene, Naseebullah and Muhammad Hanif were left in the pool of blood, he said.</p><p>ss/ln</p>
